PTC , MCH, PI is three main heating method of hair straightener.
MCH get features, Rapid heating and high thermal efficiency: Due to the excellent thermal conductivity of the ceramic and the thin-film structure of the heating element, heat can be quickly transferred to the surface.
Accurate and stable temperature: With stable resistance values and high-precision temperature control, it enables very consistent heating.
Long lifespan and high reliability: The metal circuit is completely sealed within the sturdy ceramic structure, isolated from air, which prevents oxidation, corrosion, and aging issues, resulting in a far longer service life than traditional heating wires.
Compact structure and high power density: It can be manufactured into very small and thin sheets (as thin as 0.5mm or less), making it easy to integrate into various compact products and achieve high power per unit area.
Safe and environmentally friendly: The ceramic itself is an excellent electrical insulator, resistant to high voltage and preventing leakage. The surface is non-electrified, making it safe to touch. It operates without open flames or electromagnetic interference.
Excellent thermal uniformity: Through precise circuit design, the temperature across the entire heating surface can be made very even.

PI heating film is a flexible heating material using polyimide (PI) as the substrate, which offers advantages such as being thin and lightweight, resistant to high temperatures, and having rapid thermal conductivity. It is widely used in medical, electronics, automotive, and other fields

PTC compare with PI and MCH, their temperature grow up not so fast, but their temperature is easy to control. So most straightener will be equipped with PTC.
Self-regulating and Overheat Prevention: Without the need for additional temperature control circuits, it can limit its own temperature within a safe range, fundamentally avoiding fire risks. This is its most significant advantage.
High Safety: Even if the control system fails, it will not experience unlimited temperature rise.
Constant Temperature Heating: Highly suitable for applications requiring stable and consistent heating.
Overcurrent Protection: When a circuit fault (such as a short circuit) causes a sharp increase in current, the PTC element itself rapidly heats up and enters a high-resistance state, thereby limiting the current and acting as a resettable fuse.

Safety must be the fist level, so most straightener will be equipped with PTC. PI heating method is fast and stable and save the room of them, so we use them for cordless straightener and brush. MCH is few to be our equippment part of those product.
